Allergies

Allergies occur when the body's defense system—the immune system—is hypersensitive to a harmless substance, called an allergen, and treats this substance as if it were a harmful or foreign invader. Attempting to defend itself against the
allergen—a substance like pollen, dust, mold, smoke, or pet dander (scales of skin)—the body produces an antibody (a type of protein), which results in symptoms like itchy, watery eyes, a runny or stuffy nose, scratchy throat, and sneezing. In more severe allergic reactions, rashes, hives, a drop in blood pressure, difficulty breathing (see also “Asthma”), or even death can occur.

How NUCCA treatment can help

allergies and asthma; allerginsNormal immune system function is controlled and coordinated through proper communication between the brain and spinal cord. More specifically, the autonomic nervous system (ANS) is a specific division within the body's nervous system that is responsible for organizing the function of the organs, glands, and blood vessels. If the ANS becomes irritated because of a misalignment of the cervical spine, then immune response can become exaggerated, causing the body to have an allergic response.

In NUCCA care, specific imaging studies of the cervical (upper neck) region are taken to locate a misalignment of the vertebrae. Insight Millenium technology is used to scan and measure the nervous system for possible irritation. If a misalignment has been found to affect the function of the ANS, then very specific, gentle adjustments are made, by hand, to correct the misaligned vertebrae in the neck. After the adjustments have been made, follow-up imaging studies and nervous system scans are taken to confirm a successful spinal correction.
